Making like a big wheel at NASCAR
What does somebody who
unintentionally puts racing stripes on cars because she
can’t parallel park (I was born without that gene) know from
NASCAR?
Not enough to fill even a little bit of a stock car gas
tank. Listen to me; you’d never know less than a week ago I
wasn’t even sure what a stock car was.
I had a five-speed Mazda Miata convertible forever that they
practically had to pry me out of after I traded it in; I
loved it that much. Does that count?

Universe Racing and FireHouse Announce Charity eBay Auction for
Autographed “Race Used” Hood
Berwick, PA (August 10, 2011)- Universe Racing and multi
platinum recording artists, FireHouse, are proud to announce an
upcoming charity eBay auction (Item # 120762292295) for
autographed “race used” racecar sheet metal from Universe Racing
driver, Steve Fox in the ARCA Racing Series, presented by
Menards. However, this isn’t just sheet metal, as the cause that
it supports is huge for both the race team and also for the
band, FireHouse.
The auction itself is simple, and all of the proceeds will be
donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand. Founded by the late Alexandria
“Alex” Scott, who passed away from cancer at the age of 8, the
charity was designed to help find a cure for children who suffer
from cancer.
Up for action isn’t just a piece of racecar sheet metal, as it
is the entire hood of the Universe Racing Dodge Charger in which
Fox competed with last season in the ARCA Racing Series. The
entire hood is wrapped with a photo of FireHouse band members,
CJ Snare, Bill Leverty, Michael Foster and Allen McKenzie. The
hood was recently autographed by the band at a concert in
Clearfield, PA, along with race team members, including Fox.

Steve
Fox Enjoys Best Career Effort at Pocono
Long Pond, Pa (August 7, 2011)- Hard work and dedication finally
came “Full Circle” today for Steve Fox and the Universe Racing
team today at Pocono International Raceway in the ARCA Racing
Series presented by Menards Pennsylvania 125. With his best
career finish of 16th in the series and also on the
lead lap, Fox and the team finally achieved their goal of
getting a top 20 run and they did it in style with a full field
of cars on the “Tricky Triangle”.
Menards Pole Qualifying was held on Friday and Fox ran the 28th
quickest time in the #50 Universe racing/FireHouse Dodge
Charger. Mother Nature postponed the 125-mile event from
Saturday to Sunday and the field took the green flag early in
the morning, following the Camping World Truck Series event.
Fox remained patient throughout and stayed in the top 20 all
day. Near mid race he cracked the top 15. Several yellows slowed
the race, and Fox remained steady, clicking off his fastest laps
of the event in the closing laps. He beat Pennsylvania rival and
Daytona winner, Bobby Gerhart to the stripe, as well as Pocono’s
recently named Chief Operating Officer, Nick Igdalsky.

Just weeks ago, it was announced that Fox’s car was not ready

owned by Wayne Peterson. The track time that day was crucial for
Fox and he’s more than excited about the 125-mile event coming

Steve Fox Forced to Withdraw From First
Pocono Event
Berwick, PA (May 31, 2011)- After a hard crash in the Weis 125
last August at Pocono International Raceway, Steve Fox and the
Universe Racing crew went to work to rebuild the racecar that

with limited fund, the team was determined to have a good
showing with the #50 Universe Towing/FireHouse Dodge Charger

compete in the upcoming event flip flopped following a meeting
this week with Fox and his car owner, Tony Aquilino.

Steve Fox and
FireHouse Preparing for Busy 2011
Hazleton, PA (February 15, 2011)- Although the 2011 ARCA Racing
Series presented by Menards racing season kicked off at Daytona
with Bobby Gerhart of Pennsylvania taking his seventh Daytona

hard at work preparing the Universe Racing FireHouse Dodge
Charger for both Pocono races this season.
Following a crash near the end of the second event at Pocono

upcoming eBay auction and all proceeds will be donated to Alex’s
Lemonade Stand, the team charity. Prior to the auction, the hood
will be autographed by band members CJ Snare, Bill Leverty,
Michael Foster and Allen McKenzie and of course the pilot of the
racecar, Steve Fox.
More announcements in regards to the entire schedule for
Universe Racing will be announced near spring and not only the
race team has big plans. FireHouse will be debuting a new album,

Frustration Results in 22nd
Place Effort for Fox at Pocono
Long Pond,
PA (June 6, 2010)- Steve Fox and the Universe Racing headed into
the weekend at Pocono International Raceway for the
Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper 200 in the ARCA Racing Series
event, presented by RE/MAX and Menards with three goals in mind.
The First was to qualify through time and second, to bring the
car home in one piece. The third was to earn a top 20 finish,
which nearly happened for
the #28 FireHouse/Universe Towing Dodge Charger. As the old
saying goes, ‘two out of three ain’t bad’.
Fox time trialed 21st quickest on Friday and felt
that he had a good piece for Saturday’s 200-mile event. Saturday
morning Fox, along with several competitors, signed autographs
prior to the drivers meeting before taking to the speedway.
